Role overview

  • Extract, analyse and interpret large amounts of data from a range of sources using statistical tools, in order that it can be used to inform policy decisions about pay and workforce issues and support national pay negotiations.
  • Present the results of analytical insights in a clear and engaging way for non- specialist audiences.
  • Create and maintain query databases holding workforce and pay data.
  • Build complex ‘what if’ costing models to forecast the potential future costs of changing pay policy.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with employers in the NHS, Department of Health & Social Care, Office for the Pay Review Bodies and in the NHS Trade Unions e.g. UNISON, RCN, BMA.
  • Produce tools/guidance to support employers in understanding the financial impact of new pay systems.
  • Support programme planning, reporting and risk management, ensuring delivery of high‑quality outputs on time.
