Role overview

CACI is currently seeking a Data Scientist I in support of a program whose initiative is aimed at combating evolving and emerging threats, supporting related exploitation and replication activities, and advancing operational rehearsal, exercise, wargaming, and counter system development. Additionally, we are focusing on integration and experimentation, including Modeling and Simulation.

By joining this team, you will have a unique opportunity to contribute to the U.S. and our allies’ ability to develop and apply models and simulations throughout the lifecycle of military and commercial technologies and systems. Your work will help ensure Warfighter readiness and the realization of future capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • check_circle Apply established data science methodologies to DOW mission requirements
  • check_circle Fine-tune existing AI/ML models to improve accuracy for specific mission sets, including predictive maintenance for fleet readinessSupport the development of data-driven solutions for M&S and AI systems
  • check_circle Assist in creating custom analytical pipelines and tooling to meet emerging data requirements
  • check_circle Support verification, validation, and accreditation (VV&A) of simulation models
  • check_circle Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment supporting Joint and Coalition exercises
  • check_circle Perform data engineering on simulation data including data cleaning, preparation, management, integration, and feature extraction functions
  • check_circle Support advanced data analytics initiatives including generative AI analysis workflows within a DOW context
  • check_circle Work with structured, unstructured, and natural language datasets to extract actionable insights
  • check_circle Collaborate with systems engineers, modeling and simulation developers, and operations research analysts

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or related field or 3 years of relevant experience (may substitute for education requirement)
  • Active Secret Clearance

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with DOW or military modeling and simulation environments
  • Familiarity with Live, Virtual, Constructive (LVC) simulation tools
  • Knowledge of Joint Theater Level Simulation - Global Operations (JTLS-GO), JLCCTC, OneSAF, or similar M&S tools
  • Experience with big data platforms and cloud computing architectures
  • Understanding of systems engineering principles
  • Experience supporting military exercises or operations
  • Kowledge of AI/ML applications in defense contexts
