Responsibilities

  • check_circle Perform data extraction, cleaning, importing, and processing to support environmental and groundwater analysis.
  • check_circle Conduct Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to develop predictive models, statistical analyses, and machine learning workflows to identify pattens, trends, and anomalies to support water resource planning and engineering design.
  • check_circle Create intuitive data visualizations and interactive dashboards to communicate complex information effectively.
  • check_circle Collaborate closely with our hydrogeologists and engineers on various projects, enhancing data workflows, and analytical capabilities.
  • check_circle Support development and maintenance of data infrastructure, including database management.
  • check_circle Assist in automating data workflows and reporting processes.
  • check_circle Document methodologies, code, and findings clearly and thoroughly.
  • check_circle Other related duties/tasks as directed.

Basic qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related field.
  • Proficiency in a variety of programming languages including, but not limited to: Python, R, JavaScript, and/or MATLAB.
  • Experience working with APIs to retrieve, process, and integrate external datasets.
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Careful attention to detail, accuracy, and consistency and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively collaborate and work with others.

Preferred qualifications

  • Internship experience in data science and analytics related to groundwater resources and engineering.
  • Experience utilizing machine learning and artificial intelligence (AI) to optimize workflows.
  • Experience developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems.
  • Experience with statistical analysis software and libraries (e.g., R, Python’s SciPy/StatsModels, SAS, SPSS, or similar tools).
  • Experience with Developer Tools (e.g., AWS, Git, GenAI, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases.
