Responsibilities
- check_circle Develop software applications in Python and apply machine learning techniques to improve the detection of chemical and biological materials.
- check_circle Develop, test, train, and maintain applications for developmental sensors.
- check_circle Develop and use tools to import, process, and store instrument and sensor datafiles for use in applications.
- check_circle Lead small development efforts and mentor junior developers.
- check_circle Support field testing, train users, and assess system performance.
- check_circle Remain current on related subjects in the literature and news.
- check_circle Assist with the preparation of reports, journal articles, and presentations.
Basic qualifications
- U.S. Citizen eligible for a DoD security clearance
- 3 to 9 years advanced proficiency with Python coding
- 3 years ML project experience including deep learning, NLP, and/or computer vision
- Advanced proficiency with TensorFlow or PyTorch
- Advanced proficiency in another object-oriented programming language (C++ or JavaScript)
- Advanced proficiency with databases
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly, multitask, and complete work within schedule.
Preferred qualifications
- Active DoD Security clearance
- Master’s degree in data science or related discipline
- College chemistry or biology coursework
- Experience with bioinformatics and genetic algorithm development
