Role overview

Responsibilities

• check_circle Design and develop complex AI systems including agentic AI frameworks, multi-model orchestration, and advanced RAG implementations
• check_circle Architect scalable AI solutions integrating multiple AI/ML platforms and enterprise systems
• check_circle Build sophisticated data pipelines including real-time processing, vector embeddings, and feature stores
• check_circle Implement MCP (Model Context Protocol) connectivity and advanced AI integration patterns
• check_circle Make independent technical decisions on system architecture, frameworks, and deployment strategies
• check_circle Manage complex AI projects independently from requirements gathering through production deployment
• check_circle Coordinate with product teams, business stakeholders, and external vendors to deliver AI solutions
• check_circle Drive technical decisions on project approach with limited supervision from architects
• check_circle Ensure deliverables meet quality, security, and compliance requirements
• check_circle Provide technical estimates and risk assessments for project planning
• check_circle Diagnose and resolve difficult integration issues, including API failures, performance bottlenecks, and data quality problems
• check_circle Develop solutions for complex challenges in system interoperability, scalability, and real-time processing
• check_circle Troubleshoot production AI system issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing fixes
• check_circle Optimize AI systems for performance, cost efficiency, and reliability
• check_circle Address security and compliance requirements in AI implementations for financial services
• check_circle Coach and review the work of junior engineers, guiding AI engineering best practices
• check_circle Create technical documentation, integration guides, and architectural decision records
• check_circle Lead knowledge-sharing sessions on AI design patterns and emerging technologies
• check_circle Support team development through mentorship and technical guidance
• check_circle Apply deep expertise in AI engineering, system architecture, and production ML operations
• check_circle Lead AI initiatives from design through deployment, coordinating with multiple stakeholders
• check_circle Maintain knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting the area of expertise
• check_circle Attend educational events to increase professional knowledge
• check_circle Complete annual compliance and info security training to understand employees' role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs
• check_circle Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or related technical field
• check_circle Master's degree or equivalent advanced education/certifications preferred
• check_circle Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in software development, with at least 3 years focused on AI/ML systems
• check_circle Demonstrated experience managing technical projects independently
• check_circle Track record of delivering complex AI solutions in production environments
• check_circle Financial services or credit union experience preferred
• check_circle Experience with enterprise system integration and API development
• check_circle Expert proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and modern software development practices
• check_circle Advanced experience with AI/ML platforms (Databricks, Azure ML, AWS SageMaker) and LLM integration
• check_circle Advanced knowledge of RAG architectures, vector databases, and agentic AI patterns
• check_circle Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization, and MLOps practices
• check_circle Proficient knowledge of data security, privacy, and compliance in financial services
• check_circle Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
• check_circle Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized with task management
• check_circle Ability to analyze and resolve difficult and often complex problems or situations
• check_circle Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
• check_circle Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union products, services, policies, and procedures
• check_circle Strong knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance
• check_circle Strong knowledge and understanding of credit union computer systems and software applications required to perform job duties
