Senior AI Engineer

Role overview

Responsibilities

• check_circle Model Development: Architect, train, and optimize AI models using frameworks like Transformers and PyTorch, and leverage LLMs to solve real-world problems through AWS Bedrock.
• check_circle Agent Engineering: Build agentic features, from prototype to production, using the latest GenAI stack.
• check_circle Rigorous Evaluation Frameworks: Design and maintain infrastructure for offline evaluation, and online observability and A/B testing.
• check_circle AI Productization: Implement enterprise-ready microservices (FastAPI, Kubernetes, …) with CI/CD, observability (Prometheus, Sentry), and cost optimization in AWS environments.
• check_circle Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with Product and other engineering teams to identify high-leverage AI features.
• check_circle Mentorship: Work closely together and coach other engineers through code reviews, pairing sessions, and active knowledge sharing; champion clean code, testing, security, and AI ethics standards.

Basic qualifications

• You have at least 4-5 years of relevant experience shipping impactful AI systems into production.
• You’ve demonstrated end-to-end AI system development and delivery in a production environment.
• You’re proficient in Python and common AI frameworks like PyTorch and Transformers, and Agent SDKs.
• You bring a solid understanding of MLOps best practices.
• You possess software development skills needed to deploy AI services, such as API design, testing and observability.
• You are able to articulate complex trade-offs and collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• You’re passionate about impactful AI, fairness and transparency.
• You’re committed to raising the bar through continuous learning and feedback.
• You're based in Belgium and excited to work together with the TechWolf team in our Ghent office at least three days per week.
