Genies is looking for a 3D Machine Learning Engineering Intern to join our R&D group this summer. Based at our headquarters in Los Angeles (Hybrid), you will work closely with a dedicated and talented team of Technical Artists and Engineers. Together, you will explore new concepts and technologies to further Genies' mission of empowering users to develop their own avatar ecosystems. You will contribute in developing solutions that construct and manipulate 3D geometry and textures, including avatars, wearables and their environments. We're looking for someone who is passionate about creating high-quality visuals and has the technical foundation to help us build the next wave of digital identity. 


What You’ll be Doing: 



  • Acquiring a deep knowledge of the avatar technology landscape, including relevant product domains, codebases, and systems

  • Working with an interdisciplinary team to develop ML and graphics solutions that create and augment meshes and textures in our avatar ecosystem

  • Showcasing excellence in refining and optimizing software for machine learning, ensuring it meets high standards of maintainability, quality, resilience, and performance

  • Presenting the culmination of your work to the team and company


What You Should Have: 



  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or a related STEM field 

  • Solid foundation in 3D math, linear algebra, computational geometry and numerical analysis

  • Familiarity with ML frameworks like PyTorch, Tensorflow etc. on ML projects

  • Ability to interpret and implement an algorithm, using appropriate data structures to efficiently solve a problem

  • Experience with one or more programming languages or frameworks, including but not limited to: Python, C++, C#, HLSL/GLSL, Swift

  • Familiarity with version control systems (i.e. Git)

  • Familiarity with the graphics pipeline and 3D software packages for manipulating data

  • Intent to return to a degree program after the completion of the internship

Compensation Range: $35 to $50 per hour based on qualifications
