AI Engineer (2026-4)

The successful applicant will have a hybrid or remote work arrangement, but must reside within a 125-mile radius of the AAA's office located in Downtown Manhattan. The starting salary range for the position is $110,000 - $115,000, plus an annual incentive opportunity targeting up to 10% of the base salary.

The AI Engineer will apply their expertise in artificial intelligence and software development to design, build, and optimize scalable AI systems. This role focuses on developing and deploying AI models, integrating AI capabilities into software applications, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that drive business value.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Design and develop software applications that integrate AI capabilities, including real-time inference, batch processing, and efficient data management.
  • Assist in building and deploying AI pipelines, including model training, validation, and monitoring.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers to optimize AI workflows, including distributed training, inference optimization, and resource utilization (e.g., GPU/TPU).
  • Deploy AI models into production cloud environments, considering performance, cost, and latency trade-offs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot model performance, addressing issues such as performance drift and response latency.
  • Stay updated on advancements in AI, identifying opportunities to incorporate new techniques into projects.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of AI systems into business workflows.
  • Attends on-site meetings and trainings.
  • Demonstrates regular, reliable and predictable job attendance.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field with 1-2 years of experience in AI development and 3-4 years of experience in software development, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) and modern software development tools (e.g., Git, Docker, Jenkins) is a plus. Familiarity with Generative AI tools and techniques (e.g., LLMs, LangChain, retrieval-augmented generation) is desirable.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Proficiency in Python and experience with AI frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • Familiarity with AI Ops principles, including CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and automated testing.
  • Basic understanding of cloud infrastructure and services for AI development and deployment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to address technical challenges effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Eagerness to learn and stay updated with the latest advancements in AI.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and contribute to innovative solutions.
