Role Overview
Cadre AI is looking for a talented AI Engineer to join our dynamic team and help drive the development and optimization of our AI-powered platforms. This role requires strong technical expertise in machine learning, artificial intelligence, and large language models (LLMs), with a proven track record of building scalable AI solutions. The ideal candidate has experience working with OpenAI’s GPT series, Anthropic’s Claude, Google’s Gemini, and open-source models like Llama.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement machine learning models and AI algorithms for applications such as OCR, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), conversational agents, and content generation.
  • Develop and optimize prompts for LLMs to improve model outputs and align with business objectives.
  • Evaluate and fine-tune ML models and LLMs using rigorous testing and validation methodologies.
  • Collect, preprocess, and manage large datasets to support AI model training and deployment.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, data scientists, and product teams to integrate AI models into products and services.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in generative AI, LLMs, and machine learning frameworks to incorporate best practices and new technologies.
  • Deploy AI models into production environments and monitor performance, making necessary adjustments over time.

What You Need To Succeed

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience as an AI/ML Engineer or in a similar role.
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs, including OpenAI GPT-4, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and open-source models like Llama.
  • Strong expertise in building RAG systems, agent frameworks, and LLM chains.
  • Proficiency in Python and experience with machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.
  • Solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, deep learning techniques, and natural language processing.
  • Experience in evaluating ML models and LLMs using appropriate metrics and methodologies.
  • SQL (Postgres) and data warehouse management experience (Snowflake preferred).
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to tackle complex AI challenges.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate in a multidisciplinary environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience deploying AI models on cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
  • Open-source contributions in AI projects or active participation in AI research communities.
  • Experience with big data technologies like Hadoop and Spark.
  • Domain knowledge in industries such as finance, healthcare, retail, or technology.
