Overview:

BigBear.ai is seeking a AI Engineer Intern to support our engineering team. This internship is designed for college students pursuing degrees in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, or related fields. You will work alongside experienced AI engineers to design, build, and test AI-driven solutions for real-world problems.

What you will do:

  • Assist in the development and testing of AI/ML models and algorithms
  • Support data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation tasks
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on software development projects
  • Contribute to code reviews, documentation, and agile sprint activities
  • Research emerging AI technologies and present findings to the team
  • Help integrate AI models into full-stack applications and pipelines

What you need to have:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in: Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above preferred
  • Basic understanding of machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised learning, neural networks, etc.)
  • Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

What we'd like you to have:

  • Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn
  • Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Familiarity with version control tools like Git
  • Knowledge of REST APIs and software development best practices
  • Prior internship or project experience in AI/ML or software development
