Whalo Games is a mobile gaming company based in Tel Aviv. We develop top of the line mobile games that our players will enjoy for years.

We combine creativity, data, and technology to build social gaming experiences that millions of players love. This is a great opportunity to play a key role in scaling Fish of Fortune!

We move fast, think big, and care deeply about the people who build our products. Our teams thrive on curiosity, collaboration, and the excitement of turning great ideas into real impact.

As an AI Engineer at Whalo, you’ll work at the intersection of engineering, AI, automation and growth. You’ll design and build robust, scalable workflows that support user acquisition, game performance analytics, content creation, internal tooling and more. You’ll partner across teams - product, marketing, data, ops - to identify processes ripe for automation and embed AI and low-code solutions at the heart of our operations.

**Responsibilities:

Automation Ownership & Strategic Execution**

  • Identify & prioritize high-impact processes across product, growth, live-ops, and operations that are ripe for automation or AI augmentation.
  • Design, build and deploy end-to-end automation workflows using tools/platforms like n8n, Make, Airflow (or equivalent) integrated into our cloud infrastructure.
  • Move quickly from prototype to production: ensure your work is robust, maintainable, monitored, and scalable.
  • Implement logging, retries, error-handling, monitoring and alerting; ensure the systems you build are reliable in live game environments.
  • Own feature requirements, architecture of automation workflows, and drive their lifecycle.

AI & Data-Driven Innovation

  • Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs), vector databases, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) into automation use-cases (for example: generating content, summarising analytics, automating chat flows, optimizing player journeys).
  • Work with data teams to pull relevant insights, build data products and feed those into automation or AI tools to increase player engagement, monetisation, retention.
  • Prototype and validate new AI-driven features, then refine and scale the ones that deliver value.
  • Quantify impact: track metrics such as hours saved, growth lift, error reduction, process efficiency improvements.

Cross-Team Collaboration & Enablement

  • Partner closely with product managers, game designers, data analysts, live-ops and art/creative teams to understand their workflows and pain points.
  • Translate product and operational needs into actionable automation initiatives: write specs, build roadmaps, communicate dependencies, remove blockers.
  • Evangelise automation best-practices internally: create documentation, training materials, hold workshops, and raise team capability in automation & AI.

Optimization, Iteration & Ownership

  • Monitor the performance of deployed automation systems: iterate based on usage, feedback, and KPIs.
  • Continuously search for new opportunities: stay up to date on AI/automation trends and apply them to gaming domain challenges.
  • Take full ownership of your solutions — from conception, through iteration, to scaling and day-to-day monitoring.

Requirements

  • 2 + years of experience in software engineering or automation engineering, ideally with exposure to AI workflows or game-industry tooling.
  • Proven track record of building, deploying and maintaining automation or workflow systems in production (not just prototypes).
  • Experience using at least one scripting/programming language (Python, TypeScript etc) plus workflow/orchestration tools (n8n, Make, Airflow, Dagster etc).
  • Familiarity with LLMs / embeddings / vector DBs / retrieval-augmented generation or related AI tools/techniques.
  • Strong analytical mindset: ability to work with data (SQL/BigQuery or equivalent), pull insights and turn them into actionable plans.
  • Excellent organisation, ownership and communication skills – you’ll talk with engineers, product, data, creative teams. Fluent in Hebrew and English.
  • Good understanding of mobile game mechanics, metrics (retention, engagement, monetisation), and player behaviour (especially in live-ops context).
  • Self-starter, builder mentality: you don’t wait for instructions — you see the opportunity, frame the problem and deliver solutions.
  • Passion for video games and belief in the power of automation & AI to amplify them.

Why Whalo

  • Impact: You’ll shape the technology that powers experiences enjoyed by millions of players.
  • Innovation: Join a company that encourages experimentation and creative problem solving.
  • People-first culture: We believe the best products are built by teams that love working together.

Quick answers about how DevFound's AI matching, resumes, and referrals work.

DevFound's AI Copilot ingests your profile, goals, and live job data to deliver curated matches in seconds. Every match includes a resume variant, suggested referrals, and interview prep so you can act immediately. The more feedback you provide, the sharper the Copilot becomes.

AI-led job searches shrink the hours spent sifting through boards and formatting resumes. DevFound pairs automation with your personal outreach, so you reserve energy for interviews and negotiation. Traditional networking still matters, but AI gives you a lift before you even send a message.

Modern AI roles expect comfort with production-grade code, data fluency, and practical ML tooling. The strongest candidates pair deep technical chops with storytelling—translating model impact to product, GTM, and exec partners. Continuous learning keeps you ahead as stacks evolve.

DevFound rewards active seekers. Keep your profile fresh, respond to match quality prompts, and enable alerts so you never miss a role. The AI prioritizes companies and teams that align with your feedback, accelerating both introductions and interview invites.

High-density tech hubs continue to host the deepest AI talent pools, yet distributed teams are catching up fast. Use DevFound filters to hone in on onsite, hybrid, or fully remote roles and watch openings expand across time zones.

DevFound aggregates thousands of remote AI openings and flags the nuances—core hours, async culture, and visa needs—up front. The Copilot also recommends how to position your distributed work experience so hiring managers know you can thrive on a remote team.
