AI Engineering Student Placement
Role overview
During your Placement, you will collaborate with t engineers across the team to support the development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement of AI-powered solutions. Working alongside experienced engineers and technology specialists, you'll help explore opportunities to leverage machine learning, generative AI, automation, and data-driven technologies to solve real world challenges.
You'll gain exposure to the full lifecycle of AI solution development, from requirements gathering and data preparation through to model evaluation, deployment, and user adoption.
Responsibilities
- check_circle Support the development, testing, and deployment of AI-powered applications and solutions
- check_circle Assist with data collection, preparation, and analysis to support machine learning and AI initiatives
- check_circle Collaborate with engineers across the team to identify opportunities for AI-driven automation and process improvement
- check_circle Support the integration of AI solutions with existing systems, applications, and business processes
- check_circle Assist in evaluating and testing AI models, tools, and technologies
- check_circle Document technical solutions and present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- check_circle Contribute to proof-of-concept projects exploring emerging AI technologies and capabilities
- check_circle Actively participate in the continuous improvement and adoption of AI solutions across the team
- check_circle Currently studying BSc or MSc in Data Science, AI, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
- check_circle Experience with Python and its data science ecosystem (e.g., pandas, numpy , scikit-learn).
- check_circle Familiarity with machine learning concepts and techniques (e.g., regression, classification, neural networks).
- check_circle Proactive, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, high-performance environment
- check_circle Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively
- check_circle You must have the right to work in the UK, as we cannot provide sponsorship for this role
- check_circle You m ust be available to attend onsite interviews
- check_circle Experience with other programming languages such as C# or MATLAB.
- check_circle Exposure to cloud platforms and deployment tools (e.g., Azure, Docker, GitHub Actions).
- check_circle Understanding of data pipelines and software engineering principles.

As an AI Engineering Student Placement, you'll gain hands-on experience working with cutting-edge AI technologies in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. You will be part of a collaborative team of AI Engineers, Software Engineers, and Platform Engineers, working together to improve all areas of the team—from car design and manufacturing to performance analysis at the track. You will support and evolve existing tools, as well as create new solutions that will help to drive on-track performance.
