Role overview

We are seeking an AI Engineer to support the design, vision, deployment, and ongoing improvement of backend AI-driven automation systems.

This is a hands-on, delivery-focused role suited to someone who can translate real business workflows into working systems using a mix of AI models and no-code or low-code tools. You will work closely with the core team to help accelerate development of our recruitment and operational automation systems.

This role is offered on a contract / performance-based basis, with scope to expand responsibilities and progression as the project grows.

Responsibilities

  • Design and build backend AI agents using large language models such as OpenAI, Claude, or similar
  • Implement automation workflows using tools such as Flowise, LangChain, Replit, Make, or Zapier
  • Convert real business processes into automated systems (e.g. recruitment flows, bookings, reminders, CRM updates)
  • Integrate third-party services such as WhatsApp, email platforms, Google Calendar, forms, and APIs
  • Monitor, test, and refine agent performance based on usage and feedback
  • Maintain clear documentation of logic, workflows, and system structure
  • Support internal testing and iteration as systems are prepared for client use
  • Collaborate with the core team to improve reliability, scalability, and clarity of outputs
  • Demonstrable experience building AI-powered workflows or agents using LLM APIs
  • Experience with no-code or low-code automation tools (e.g. Flowise, LangChain, Zapier, Make, Replit)
  • Ability to design logic-driven workflows with conditions, variables, and error handling
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks, and deliver reliably
  • Experience building systems intended for real-world use, not just prototypes
  • Eager and hungry to learn
  • Able to deal with constructive criticism and use feedback to improve your work
  • Python scripting or backend logic experience
  • Experience with recruitment systems, CRM automation, or service-based business workflows
  • API integrations with platforms such as Stripe, Calendly, or Shopify
  • Familiarity with lightweight dashboards using Notion, Airtable, or Google Sheets
  • Commission per client system delivered
  • Upsell bonus of 19.5% for advanced features, logic expansions, or integrations you help design and implement
  • Potential progression into longer-term collaboration or leadership responsibilities based on performance
  • A simple backend AI automation you have built (or build specifically for this application)
  • Example use cases: recruitment flow, booking system, CRM update, reminder automation
  • A 2-3 minute video demonstrating the system and explaining:
  • CV or portfolio
  • Link to your demo video, if you have one (Google Drive, Notion, or YouTube)
  • A short paragraph (maximum 100 words) explaining your interest in backend AI automation
