The Associate Data Scientist provides meaningful insights (patterns, anomalies, etc.) to the business by statistically analyzing large volume data sets and communicating the results. They will utilize data science models, algorithms, machine learning, and other means to predict outcomes and analytics that can be utilized by other applications within the organization. The Associate Data Scientist will also use many computer science skills to develop programs and navigate Azure cloud environments.

Essential Job Functions

  • Gather information requirements, perform data discovery, and conduct exploratory analysis.
  • Acquire, process, cleanse, and address gaps in data to ensure accuracy and usability.
  • Identify and apply the most appropriate models and algorithms for each dataset.
  • Leverage data science techniques—including machine learning, statistical modeling, and large language models—to address business needs.
  • Train, evaluate, and optimize models to ensure accuracy, performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Assess prediction quality and refine models through parameter tuning and monitoring.
  • Build and maintain strong day-to-day relationships with business partners, stakeholders, team members, and internal/external resources.
  • Develop and maintain program artifacts for data analytics, ensuring compliance with enterprise policies and standards.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in statistics, mathematics, engineering, computer science, or data science is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience and knowledge of Python, SQL, JavaScript.
  • Preferred: Experience with Snowflake data warehouse, including designing and optimizing datamarts and/or semantic views
  • Consideration is given to relevant experience and related certification.
  • A valid driver’s license may be required, along with a driving record that meets the requirements of the company’s insurance provider.
