Computer Vision Engineer

Vertex Search is proud to be partnering with a Series A startup in Austin that is using modern software and Al to transform a centuries-old, waste-intensive industry.

As a
Computer Vision Engineer,
you will play a key role in developing a new perception system that powers an advanced camera platform designed to solve complex problems in challenging industrial environments. You'll also have the opportunity to work closely with the hardware itself, collaborating with a team of highly capable, versatile engineers building systems end-to-end.

What We're Looking For:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field
  • A Master's or PhD in Computer Vision or a related field is a big plus!
  • 3+ years of industry experience working on computer vision systems
  • Strong programming skills, typically Python and/or C++

We welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds, including robotics, autonomous systems, industrial vision, or applied machine learning.

Relevant experience may include:

  • Object detection
  • Instance or semantic segmentation
  • Multi-object tracking
  • Activity recognition
  • Video understanding
  • Visual classification
  • Image processing or feature extraction
  • 3D vision or multi-view geometry
  • Model optimisation for real-time inference
