Job Description Summary

Here at GE Aerospace we have exciting new permanent opportunities to join our team as a Senior Data Scientist based out of our Eastleigh (Southampton) site on a hybrid basis.

You'll work as part of a team to rapidly develop Data Science solutions, which deliver clear value to GE Aerospace. You will be able to quickly assimilate customer requirements and translate these into working solutions. In this role you'll be continuously exercising your analytic expertise, data knowledge and user experience skillset.

Job Description

Role and Responsibilities

  • As a GE Aerospace Data Scientist, you'll get to work on projects which typically involve large and complex data sets.
  • Our projects support all aspects of the GE Aerospace business from asset in-service deployment, fleet monitoring and management to OEM, MRO, supply chain and financial operations.
  • We work alongside internal GE customers and stakeholders to rapidly develop, test and deploy Data Science solutions which solve real-world problems and deliver significant value to the business. We also develop custom in-house analytics tools to meet the various internal business needs.
  • The role combines data science with application / domain knowledge. We make extensive use of AI and ML techniques including LLMs, Computer Vision; Neural Networks and Advanced Statistical methods.

Role Requirements

  • Experience of Python is essential.
  • In-role experience of data science.
  • Demonstrable understanding of the data lifecycle.
  • Analytical scripting skills essential, ideally Python.
  • Knowledge and experience of applying ML / AI / Advanced Statistics to solve real-world problems.
  • Experience using Version Control, ideally Github.
  • A keen interest working in Aerospace / Aviation industry.
  • Awareness of how to leverage curiosity and creativity to drive business impact.
  • Capable of working within a team or independently.
  • Able to complete specific tasks to required timelines.
  • Good communicator: Comfortable communicating complex technical information to a range of stakeholders – peers, experts and non-experts, customers.
