ABOUT THE ROLE
Topography Health stands as a leader in clinical research and healthcare analytics, leveraging cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to create actionable insights. We are in search of a seasoned Data Scientist with a strong background in the healthcare or fintech sectors. This role will champion the creation, refinement, and optimization of algorithms that enhance our processes. Handling unstructured data will be commonplace, and extracting insights pivotal. A critical aspect will be the deployment of machine learning models, with an emphasis on NLP and LLM, particularly tuned to EHR datasets. This position will also necessitate cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment with overarching data requirements and high-impact solutions. This role is instrumental in advancing our clinical trials. You will not only develop predictive models but also ensure data integrity by managing and harmonizing data from various sources. You will be involved in intensive collaboration with our clinical researchers and product team, and you will need to stay up to date on the latest in data science and clinical methodologies.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform advanced data analysis on clinical data to provide business insights (e.g., patient utilization, disease prevalence, etc.)
Leverage and apply cutting-edge developments in NLP and LLMs to analyze clinical notes and various forms of unstructured dataHandle vast amounts of unstructured data, deriving insights that will aid in the identification of potential patients
Utilize ETL processes for large datasets using Python/PySpark and Apache Airflow on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
Engage deeply with real-world data sources, including EHR and claims data
Implement and deploy machine learning models, emphasizing deep learning and natural language processing techniques, specifically on EHR datasets
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BS in Data Science, Health Informatics, Software Engineering or 4 years equivalent work experience
3+ years of work experience in Healthcare of Fintech
3+ years of experience with Python, and SQL3+ years of experience with clinical data sets and coding systems3+ years of experience with Machine Learning/Natural Language Processing
3+ years of experience with Machine Learning model implementation & deployment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
MS in Data Science, Health Informatics, or Software Engineering
