Job Duties:

The Data Scientist Lead is a member of a high-performing technology team that leads the firm in data science by producing innovative solutions driven by turning raw data into actionable insights. The position will utilize expertise in data analysis, statistical modeling, and machine learning to solve complex problems, extract meaningful information, increase accuracy and efficiency, enhance existing and enable new products, and guide decision-making across the organization. Duties include:

  • Understand the business and strategy and work with business leaders to identify and prioritize problems that advanced analytics are suited to solve
  • Collect and prepare data. Help identify the business data needed to produce the most useful insights and future analytics. Gather and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and consistency
  • Perform exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and anomalies
  • Utilize statistical techniques to gain insights into business processes and customer behavior.
  • Build data processing pipelines and model training pipelines using Python in our enterprise Databricks environment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including consultants, engineers, product managers, and business analysts, to translate data insights into actionable recommendations
  • Create compelling visualizations to communicate complex findings to non-technical stakeholders
  • Ensure data privacy and compliance and maintain data security and integrity

Requirements:

Master’s degree in data science, computer science, statistics, mathematics, engineering or related quantitative field and 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or Business Intelligence Developer.

**Specific skills and other requirements:*

Position requires:

  • 3 years of experience building machine learning models
  • 3 years of experience programming in Python
  • 3 years of experience performing advanced data extraction, manipulation, and analysis in relational databases using SQL (or SQL API's such as PySpark, SQLAlchemy, or Polars) including complex queries, joins, window functions, and performance optimization techniques.
  • 3 years of experience in statistical or predictive modeling techniques (e.g. supervised/semi-supervised/unsupervised learning, A/B testing, reinforcement learning, deep learning)
  • 3 years of experience with NLP techniques to process text-data (e.g. sentiment analysis, stemming, TF-IDF)
  • 3 years of experience using business intelligence visualization tools such as Tableau, Microstrategy, Power BI, R Shiny or Dash
  • 3 years of experience of with version control using Git
  • 2 years of experience in building, managing and deploying machine learning solutions on enterprise versions of cloud platforms such as GCP, Azure, or AWS using continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)
  • 2 years of experience with large-scale or distributed processing frameworks (e.g. Spark, Hadoop, GPU's or similar) to process large datasets
  • 2 years of experience developing and optimizing deep learning models using frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch
  • 2 years of experience leading or mentoring junior data scientists and cross-functional teams, including project planning and stakeholder communication
  • 1 year of experience developing compensation models and conducting compensation analysis using regression-based modeling techniques (e.g., XGBoost, Random Forest)
  • 1 year of experience integrating model training pipelines into continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD)

Salary: $142,230 to $183,546
