**Job Title: Forward Deployed AI/ML Engineer (Founding Engineer)

Locations:** Strong preference for New York City. Hybrid in the Bay Area is possible due to customer proximity

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer who will work at the intersection of AI, engineering, and customer deployment to help transform public safety investigations. In this role, you will work closely with law enforcement agencies, understand their workflows, deploy our platform, and build product features that improve investigation processes.

This is a high-impact, customer-facing engineering role where you will collaborate directly with founders, contribute to product development, and ensure successful implementation of our platform across multiple departments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deploy and configure the platform for new law enforcement agencies.
  • Work directly with detectives, analysts, and investigators to understand their workflows and challenges.
  • Build and ship full-stack features using Python, React, and TypeScript.
  • Integrate and deploy AI/ML models and LLM-based solutions to improve evidence search and investigation workflows.
  • Ensure system reliability, data integrity, and smooth daily operations.
  • Translate field insights into product improvements by collaborating with engineering and product teams.
  • Support onboarding, training, and adoption for new departments.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Machine Learning or AI engineering.
  • Strong experience with PyTorch and/or TensorFlow.
  • 2+ years of experience working with LLMs or AI APIs.
  • Experience building full-stack applications (Python, React, TypeScript).
  • Experience deploying AI systems and scalable infrastructure.
  • Strong communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments and traveling to client locations.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in early-stage startups or high-ownership engineering roles.
  • Experience building AI products used in real-world operational environments.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
