・Position Summary
Our team is dedicated to researching and developing computer vision and machine learning technologies using Sony's innovative sensor technology. Our focus areas include: A) The development of signal processing and sensing systems utilizing Sony's unique sensors, including Polarization Image Sensors, Event-based Vision Sensors, SWIR Image Sensors, and SPAD Depth Sensors. Our team may use computer graphics technologies such as simulations and renderers to support this development.B) The optimal design of devices and signal processing from both hardware and software perspectives. Our goal is to propose Sony's original sensor devices with unique architecture and high efficiency systems through this optimal design. We also conduct research and development in signal processing technologies, such as image processing and machine learning, in order to implement them as new products and services.

・Responsibilities

  • Software, algorithm, and system development related to image processing, along with supporting their practical implementation.- As an engineer, you will constantly acquire new skills and expertise to become a reliable expert in computer vision and machine learning technologies.- Take on the role of an expert in developing key technologies that will be integrated into next-generation products and services, leading the development as a core team member.- Engage in the planning and proposing research and development themes and take on the challenge of collaborating with overseas R&D branches and universities.

・Required qualifications
You should possess skills and knowledge in one of the areas in following, along with experience in conducting self-driven research and development:- Software development skills (C++, Python, Deep Learning frameworks, etc.)- Experiences in prototyping systems for research and development in image sensing, computational photography, computer vision, etc.- Specialized knowledge in optimization and acceleration, including systems and hardware.- Expertise in efficient computation for neural networks and experiences in development related to edge AI and hardware implementation, such as on-chip learning.- Experiences in 3D modeling, photogrammetry, and rendering using tools like Blender.- Specialized knowledge in ray tracing (ray marching, SDF, etc.) and implementation experience with technologies like DirectX and OptiX.

・Preferred qualifications
Fundamental knowledge of optics and image sensors, as well as an understanding of the physical properties of light, such as polarization, diffraction, and wavelength.
