Who we are

We are EXIN, an independent certification and accreditation institute specializing in digital skills. We provide a comprehensive solution for certifying professionals in the digital domain. We are proud to be part of the Software Improvement Group (SIG), where we work together to help organizations transform. While SIG focuses on assessing and certifying IT processes and technology, our emphasis is on people. Together, we cover the trifecta of People, Processes, and Technology.

As part of our ambitious strategy, we are seeking a (Junior) AI Engineer who will collaborate with colleagues from various areas of the organization to innovate our product portfolio and operational processes through AI, while maintaining our high-quality standards. This role involves developing new educational and assessment-related products. The (Junior) AI Engineer will also prioritize the responsible use of AI, ensuring compliance with legal, qualitative, and ethical norms.

How we work

As a Junior AI Engineer, you will utilize AI and develop AI systems to create new and innovative certification and educational products. You will be part of a Product Innovation Team, and your responsibilities will also include improving existing certification products and enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of internal business and operational processes through the use of agentic AI and automation.

You'll convert internal guidelines into machine learning algorithms while ensuring that the outcomes remain compliant with legal, qualitative, and ethical standards. Additionally, you will stay up to date with the latest research and developments in the fields of AI and machine learning.

Where Do You Come In

The (Junior) AI Engineering role is a cross-organizational position. You will collaborate closely with the Product Owner, who ensures that the products in EXIN’s certification portfolio meet market needs. You will also work with Exam Developers, who ensure that certification products align with educational standards, as well as other stakeholders both inside and outside the organization.

You should have sufficient experience in software engineering and generative AI, enabling you to create and refine high-quality algorithms and prompts for developing, updating, and translating exam requirements, questions, documentation, and other exam-related materials. Additionally, you will use this expertise to help create new certification or education-related products in line with the priorities set by the Product Innovation Team.

You will also be responsible for translating requests for business and operational process innovations into new processes using (agentic) AI or other automation technologies.

We are looking for a pragmatic, flexible individual with a hands-on mentality. You should be willing to take responsibility and enjoy innovating while striving for high-quality outcomes. Most communication and development work is conducted in English, so proficiency in the English language is essential. You will report to the Digital Skills Director.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize AI to co-develop new products, aligning with the priorities set by the Product Innovation Team.
  • Collaborate in the development, enhancement, and translation of exam products using (generative) AI, ensuring compliance with our guidelines for educational measurement.
  • Enhance business and operational processes through the application of (agentic) AI and automation.
  • Ensure that deliverables meet high-quality standards, are completed within budget, and are delivered on time.
  • Independently create and maintain machine learning algorithms that adhere to established standards, best practices, and company policies.
  • Continuously update your knowledge in the field to stay current.

What’s in it for you?

You will have the opportunity to further develop and apply your AI Engineering knowledge and skills in the context of digital technology, where tech meets education. You will be part of a strong, dedicated organization that values hard work while also having fun along the way. Additionally, you will have the chance to connect with and learn from fellow AI Engineers within EXIN’s parent company, Software Improvement Group.

We invite you to join us in transforming organizations by helping them effectively manage their people, processes, and technology. At EXIN, you can make a difference by aiding individuals in enhancing their skills to be the right fit for their next job, while also ensuring that organizations can trust they have the right people to implement their digital strategies. If you share our belief that independent assessment of knowledge and competencies is crucial for preparing a future-ready workforce, you will be at the forefront of progress and innovation at EXIN.
