In Merkle’s Data Science team we are looking for a Data Scientist Intern to join our team. The selected candidate will join a young and dynamic environment characterized by cross-functional skills, strong teamwork, collaboration, and individual initiative.

Working closely with the team, the intern will support the analysis of large datasets from the web (digital marketing), customer CRMs, and external data sources, contributing to the development of models and advanced analytical solutions.

Job Description:

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the understanding and analysis of business problems, contributing to their resolution through analytical and statistical methods.
  • Assist in designing and implementing complex analyses: from reviewing business performance/lead/visit metrics to preparing key insights for clients.
  • Participate in managing and analyzing large datasets using various tools and architectures (Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery, Python, R).
  • Support the team in developing and maintaining analytical models.
  • Apply innovative approaches to address evolving client needs and solve data-related business challenges.
  • Collaborate with colleagues from other departments to identify data-driven issues and help generate actionable insights for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related fields (or currently completing one).
  • Strong interest and passion for data analysis and statistical modeling.
  • Basic knowledge of statistical modeling principles.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, R, or Matlab.
  • Good command of written and spoken English.
  • Teamwork attitude and willingness to learn.

  • Creativity, curiosity, and a proactive mindset.

  • Flexibility and ability to work in a dynamic environment.
