Job Description

We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineer who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale. As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.

As a Software engineer in Dispute Systems, you will be part of a global team that develops and maintains Visa Resolve Online, a web-based application that enables Visa clients to manage their disputes and chargebacks. You will use your Java skills and experience with various technologies to design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality code that meets very high business, security and resiliency requirements. You will collaborate with other teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure the smooth delivery and operation of the application. You will have the opportunity to learn and apply new technologies and frameworks, such as AI and generative AI, to enhance the functionality and performance of the application.

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Learn the Visa Dispute business domain, analyze requirements, evaluate different coding options and participate in scoping and sizing activities

• Design, develop, test and maintain code for the Visa Resolve Online application

• Communicate and collaborate effectively with team members including vendor partner teams

•Participate in the technology proof-of-concepts and learn new technologies and frameworks

• Create and maintain technical documentation

• Collaborate with Product Owners, DevOps, Security, Automation and Level 3 Support teams to ensure alignment across initiatives

• Deliver service excellence and innovation, create opportunities, consistently think and act ahead of the curve

 

We do not expect that any single candidate would fulfill all of these characteristics. For instance, we have exciting team members who are really focused on building scalable systems but didn’t work with payments technology or web applications before joining Visa.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications


Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is required

- 1-2 years of relevant experience in Java/J2EE enterprise applications, Spring framework and Web Services

- Strong Core Java skills

- Demonstrated ability to build and understand object-oriented designs

- Strong SQL skills and knowledge of RDBMS concepts

- Strong problem solving and analytical skills

- Fundamental knowledge of UNIX and shell scripting

- Very good communication skills

- AI and generative AI skills are highly desirable

- Practical knowledge and skills in utilizing cloud computing platforms is desirable

- Experience in the financial domain or payment industry is a plus

- Knowledge/Work experience using Agile methodologies is a plus
