**JOB OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE : Lead Data Scientist
LOCATION :** Doha, Qatar
**GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
Combining computer science, statistics and mathematics, a Data Scientist analyzes and models data to create actionable plans for all TASMU stakeholders
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES**
Employ sophisticated analytics programs, machine learning and statistical methods to deliver smart city use-cases
Prepare data for use in predictive and prescriptive modeling
Explore and examine data to find hidden patterns
Create advance analytics and machine learning models through descriptive, predictive and prescriptive modeling
Visualize findings with industry standard tools
Work with data engineer to automate model scoring and other work routines
Monitor and fine-tune model performance (in a steady state) based on new variables, requirements or industry trends/best practices
TECHNICAL SKILLS
Strong ability to process large amounts data from different data sources (SQL, No-SQL, Big Data)
Strong knowledge of applied mathematical and statistical analysis
Strong knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence techniques
**Strong knowledge of reporting and data visualization tools
POTENTIAL BACKGROUND**
MSc or PhD in computer science, statistics, mathematics, economics, physics (or similar quantitative field)
5+ years of experience in a Data Scientist role or similar roles
