Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement machine learning models to predict competitive bidding landscape, conversion rate, ad relevance to users etc.
  • Analyze data to identify useful relations, patterns and features that are predictive of user behaviors, preferences, intents, interests
  • Continuously identify and explore new and unconventional data sources
  • Generate hypothesis and design effective online experiments to continuously iterate and improve on algorithm performance
  • Take on unique modeling challenges of data sparsity, delayed feedback, as well as modeling in the context of privacy restrictions
  • Work with engineering and operations teams to build machine learning models, monitor and evaluate their health and effectiveness in production
  • Use strong communication skills (verbal and written) to explain statistical and machine learning concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Basic qualifications

  • Three or more years of experience; Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Math, Data Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Be an expert in at least one scientific programming language (Python is strongly preferred)
  • Be an expert in probability distributions, statistical modeling and machine learning
  • Be proficient with structured query language (SQL)
  • Be proficient with Bayesian statistics and modeling

Preferred qualifications

  • Be familiar with at least one deep learning framework (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow)
  • Have experience deploying effective ML models to production
  • Have experience with auction dynamics and bidding strategies
  • Have experience maintaining high quality production code
  • Have experience connecting to data sources and prototyping data pipelines
  • Adtech experience is a plus
