Member of Technical Staff - AI/ML Engineer
Responsibilities
- check_circle Train, fine-tune, and evaluate the models behind the product's conversational behavior
- check_circle Deploy models to production and keep them fast, reliable, and affordable at scale
- check_circle Refine the full speech pipeline: STT, LLM orchestration, TTS for natural, low-latency conversation
- check_circle Build out the agent harness: scheduled actions that fire reliably, proactive behavior that feels right, and the guardrails around all of it

- Stay focused when multiple priorities compete and the ranking is unclear
- Work seamlessly across research and engineering
- Can navigate ambiguity and make progress in fast-moving research environments
- This is a founding-level position. You will work directly with the founders, shape the architecture from the ground up, and see your work in users' hands within months, not years.
Preferred qualifications
- Proven experience taking ML systems from experiment to production
- Hands-on work with LLMs and/or speech models (ASR/TTS); fine-tuning experience is a strong plus
- Comfort with real-time constraints: streaming inference, latency budgets, graceful behavior on bad networks
- Bonus: edge/embedded deployment, agent frameworks, evaluation infrastructure, experience in NLU / NLP
