Job Duties And Responsibilities
EchoStar
has an exciting opportunity for a
ML Engineering Intern
. This position will be located at our office in
Germantown, MD.
Key Responsibilities
- Support data cleaning, preprocessing, and feature engineering on datasets used for machine learning tasks
- Assist with training, tuning, and evaluating simple ML models under guidance
- Help test and validate models to ensure they perform as expected and support documentation of results
- Participate in code reviews, collaborate with engineers, and contribute to team discussions
- Learn and explore new AI/ML tools, libraries, and techniques relevant to ongoing projects
- Assist with basic scripting and automation tasks to support data workflows
Skills, Experience And Requirements
Education and Experience:
- GPA 3.3 or above
- Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program, in a related field of study
- Must have 60 credit hours completed by May 2026
Skills And Qualifications
- Basic programming skills in Python (experience with libraries like scikit-learn, Pandas, or TensorFlow is a plus)
- Familiarity with fundamental ML concepts such as supervised/unsupervised learning and model evaluation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a desire to learn new technologies
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Coursework or personal projects involving machine learning or data analysis

Salary Ranges
Compensation: $51,000.00/Year - $73,000.00/Year
