As a Node.js Developer for Discord Bot at PlaiDay, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and maintaining a suite of Discord bots that leverage the power of our generative ai platform. You will collaborate with a highly skilled and innovative team to create a next-generation communication tool that will bring communities closer together.

Responsibilities:

    • Bot Development: Design, develop, and maintain a highly functional and efficient Discord bot using Node.js and the Discord API.
    • AI Integration: Integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning models into the bot to provide advanced features and improve user engagement.
    • Feature Development: Implement a variety of features, including but not limited to automated moderation, content filtering, interactive games, and user interaction improvements.
    • API Integration: Collaborate with external APIs to access data and services that enhance the bot's capabilities.
    • Optimization: Continuously optimize the bot's performance and ensure it can handle a high volume of concurrent users.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with the development team, AI researchers, and designers to align bot features with the company's vision.
    • Community Engagement: Gather feedback from users and the Discord community to identify areas for improvement and new features.

Qualifications:

    • 4+ years Javascript software development experience writing enterprise-level software
    • Proven experience in Node.js development, especially for web applications or Discord bots.
    • Excellent command of the Discord API and how to create and manage bots on the platform.
    • Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party API integrations.
    • Proficiency in database systems, particularly Postgres and MongoDB or similar NoSQL databases.
    • Solid understanding of software development best practices and version control (e.g., Git).
    • Strong problem-solving skills and a passion for innovation.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced startup environment.

Nice to have:

    • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
    • Professional experience with ReactJS, Redux, and Redux-Saga
    • Experience with artificial intelligence, machine learning, or natural language processing.
    • Experience with container-based deployment & orchestration
    • Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases such as MySQL, DynamoDB, Postgres

$100,000 - $130,000 a year
