Academic studies:
Postdoc in: Data Science.
PhD in: STEM or Health Sciences oriented to data science.
Location: Universidad de Monterrey (UDEM), San Pedro Garza García, Nuevo León, Mexico
Experience and Required Competencies:
- Advanced Machine Learning Algorithms: Proficient in Gradient Boosting Machines (XGBoost, LightGBM, CatBoost), Convolutional and Recurrent Neural Networks (CNN, RNN including LSTM), and Ensemble Models. Skilled in feature selection with Autoencoders and Independent Component Analysis (ICA).
- Model Optimization and Validation: Experienced in Bayesian Optimization, stratified cross-validation, bootstrap techniques, and survival metric validation including Cox models and ROC curve analysis.
- Data Mining and Big Data Analysis: Advanced preprocessing and analytical skills for both structured and unstructured data, proficient in dimensionality reduction (PCA, t-SNE) and data visualization.
- Data-Driven Decision-Making: Capable of designing and developing models and analytical tools to improve outcomes and efficiency in various applications.
- Applications of AI: Utilization of AI and machine learning for predictive modeling and resource optimization across diverse datasets and contexts in Education, Biostatistics, and different disciplines in Health Sciences.
- Documentation, Publication, and Scientific Dissemination: Demonstrated ability to publish in top Journals Q1/Q2 as ranked by the Journal Citation Reports (JCR). Strong collaboration skills to guide interdisciplinary teams in the use of computational techniques and data analysis for health and education research.
- Mastery of coding languages and computer programs: Python, R programming, Matlab and COMSOL.
Main responsibilities:
- Report on progress based on research objectives, publications, submission of grants, and teaching.
- Incorporate innovative practices in machine learning and data science to position UDEM as a global benchmark.
- Write protocols and projects for participation in international calls for fundraising.
- Write manuscripts for publication in top Q1/Q2 journals by JCR.
- Provide advice to professors and researchers in the design of innovative educational strategies and advanced evaluation methodologies.
