Role overview

The mission of the Spectre team is to make fundamental contributions to advancing the state of the art in Geospatial AI, including developing foundation models for aerial object detection, tracking and map generation, and building an end-to-end AI pipeline using cutting-edge ML techniques and system optimization. We conduct applied research and integrate our AI solutions on real customer data to deliver high-value and high-impact solutions. We are an agile team that moves fast from ideas to experimentation, and to product development. We are looking for a motivated Principal ML Engineer to join us in delivering the next wave of AI innovation.

In collaboration with Microsoft Planetary Computer, Spectre is building the AI Platform to harness the power of PB of data and cutting-edge foundation models to generate accurate geospatial insights for a growing number of customers.

Responsibilities

  • You will apply the latest AI, Computer Vision and Machine Learning algorithms to build customer-centric solutions.
  • You will modify and advance the state-of-the-art approaches in object detection and tracking to deliver best-in-class solutions to our customers.
  • You will optimize the run-time performance of the latest Computer Vision and Machine Learning algorithms to meet customer’s requirements on various hardware platforms.
  • Partner with industry-leading Engineers, Data Scientists, Designers and Program Managers to deliver solid technical designs.

Basic qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.

Preferred qualifications

  • Experience with C++/Python, debugging ability across technology stacks.
  • Experience in Deep Learning using frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Experience in Shipping Computer Vision or Machine Learning based runtimes.
  • Practical experience working with geospatial data workflows or datasets.
