Brand New Day · Amsterdam-Zuidoost, NH, NL

Actively hiring Posted 6 months ago

Are you an experienced engineer who’s enthusiastic about using cutting-edge AI technologies and making a real impact on the lives of our customers and colleagues? Then get in touch as soon as you can!

What will you do as Senior AI Engineer?

At Brand New Day, we’re on a mission to leverage the power of AI to enhance our customer experience, drive operational efficiency and build innovative, market-leading financial products. With ambitious goals in a dynamic, technology-driven environment, we are looking for a passionate engineer to join our growing AI team, and accelerate our development of AI-driven solutions.

Your key activities and responsibilities in bullets:

  • Own end-to-end delivery of AI solutions (design build deploy monitor), with a strong focus on agentic AI and LLM-powered applications
  • Developing and optimizing AI-powered applications, ensuring seamless integration with our existing Azure cloud infrastructure and Databricks, Kafka and MLOps tooling
  • Organizing and orchestrating AI experiments, tracking performance and improving our AI models and applications
  • Collaborating closely within cross-functional teams, applying agile methodologies and adopting a ‘fail fast, learn fast’ approach to innovation
  • Helping shape AI governance, ensuring quality, compliance and ethical standards in our deployment of AI

You will join a growing team of talented AI and data professionals, where your technical experience and getting-things-done mentality will play a pivotal role in delivering AI-driven products and increasing the efficiency of the organization.

What you’ll receive from us

  • a pleasant salary between €80k and €90k and pension accrual on top
  • 25 vacation days + 1 extra day off for a celebration!
  • the option to work from home two days per week and one week remote per year (two weeks for expats)
  • training budget of €1,000 per year to stay up to date in your field.
  • €25 per month benefit budget for 1,001 fun or useful things (via Alleo)
  • a fully catered lunch at the company’s expense each week (On other days, you’ll need to arrange your own, but no worries. We’re right next to the Amsterdamse Poort, where there’s plenty of choice.)

Who are you?

You are a senior engineer who enjoys building real products—not just prototypes. You can move fast, but you don’t cut corners on production readiness. You’re comfortable in ambiguity, you make good trade-offs, and bring structure and calm to experimentation. You communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and take ownership from problem framing to measurable outcomes.

Furthermore, you have:

  • 5+ years of building and shipping backend/software systems (strong Python experience, testing, code reviews, CI/CD)
  • experience building and deploying AI solutions used by real people (not just notebooks)
  • hands-on experience creating solutions based on large language models (e.g., RAG, tool use, agents, prompt and response management, evaluation)
  • a solid understanding of designing and running structured AI experiments and evaluations
  • experience working with cloud and data platforms (ideally Azure and Databricks) and integrating with production systems (e.g. streaming/event-driven via Kafka)
  • a degree in AI, computer science, software engineering, (applied) mathematics or a related field — or equivalent practical experience

Nice-to-haves:

  • practical experience with Docker (and ideally Kubernetes)
  • experience with LLMOps patterns: model/agent evaluation harnesses, monitoring, guardrails, cost/latency optimization and incident response for AI services

We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills to effectively articulate complex AI concepts and translate them into tangible business value. Someone who thrives in collaborative environments and brings energy, innovation and a solution-oriented mindset to the job. You will need to be based in the Netherlands and be comfortable with a hybrid work model.

And one more thing: research shows that women and members of underrepresented groups often only apply if they meet 100% of the requirements. Does this sound familiar? If so, we encourage you to apply anyway. We look forward to meeting you!

Quick answers about how DevFound's AI matching, resumes, and referrals work.

DevFound's AI Copilot ingests your profile, goals, and live job data to deliver curated matches in seconds. Every match includes a resume variant, suggested referrals, and interview prep so you can act immediately. The more feedback you provide, the sharper the Copilot becomes.

AI-led job searches shrink the hours spent sifting through boards and formatting resumes. DevFound pairs automation with your personal outreach, so you reserve energy for interviews and negotiation. Traditional networking still matters, but AI gives you a lift before you even send a message.

Modern AI roles expect comfort with production-grade code, data fluency, and practical ML tooling. The strongest candidates pair deep technical chops with storytelling—translating model impact to product, GTM, and exec partners. Continuous learning keeps you ahead as stacks evolve.

DevFound rewards active seekers. Keep your profile fresh, respond to match quality prompts, and enable alerts so you never miss a role. The AI prioritizes companies and teams that align with your feedback, accelerating both introductions and interview invites.

High-density tech hubs continue to host the deepest AI talent pools, yet distributed teams are catching up fast. Use DevFound filters to hone in on onsite, hybrid, or fully remote roles and watch openings expand across time zones.

DevFound aggregates thousands of remote AI openings and flags the nuances—core hours, async culture, and visa needs—up front. The Copilot also recommends how to position your distributed work experience so hiring managers know you can thrive on a remote team.
