As a Senior Engineer, you will be driving the development and implementation of Agentic AI solutions for HCA. Reporting to the Director of AI Enablement, you will be part of a team of engineers, collaborating closely with product managers, data scientists, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, scalable, and reliable Gen AI products. Your deep technical expertise and leadership skills will be essential in guiding the team, ensuring adherence to best practices, and delivering impactful AI solutions.

What you will do in this role:

  • Design, development, and implementation of AI-powered applications and services, with a specific focus on cutting edge Machine Learning methods and technologies.
  • Collaborate with product managers and data scientists to translate product requirements into technical specifications and actionable development tasks for AI solutions.
  • Design, develop, and deploy ML solutions to automate tasks, improve decision-making, and enhance user experiences.
  • Integrate Ml solutions into existing systems and workflows, ensuring seamless operation and optimal performance.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of learning and innovation.
  • Oversee the development process, ensuring adherence to coding standards, testing protocols, and deployment procedures.
  • Design and implement scalable, reliable, and secure AI infrastructure to support AI/ML development.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the AI development process.
  • Stay current with advancements in AI and related technologies and share knowledge with the team.
  • Participate in cross-functional collaboration across HCA business functions, IT, and enterprise product teams.
  • Typical work week hours can vary depending on workload and project deliverables.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related technical field - Required
  • 5+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on AI/ML applications - Required
  • Proven experience leading and mentoring engineering teams - Required
  • Object oriented programming in Python and ability to reproduce cutting edge Machine Learning methods using scientific frameworks and libraries.
  • Strong technical background with hands-on experience in developing and deploying AI/ML solutions (supervised learning, unsupervised learning), generative AI technologies (VLMs, LLMs), and Agentic AI development.
  • Experience with cloud-based AI platforms and services (e.g. GCP, Azure).
  • Experience with version control (GitHub, GitHub Actions) and familiarity with IaC (infrastructure as code).
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and APIs.
  • Experience with agile development methodologies.
  • Deep understanding of software development best practices, including coding standards, testing, and deployment - Required

Work Location/Schedule:

  • 100% Remote – U.S. Only
  • Central Time office hours required

Travel Required:

  • On-site Orientation within the first month
  • Quarterly Team On-sites
  • The team may have occasional sessions in-person (conferences, white boarding, design)
