About the Opportunity

We are seeking a
Senior AI/ML Platform Engineer
to join our team as a subcontractor supporting a high-impact government initiative. This role is foundational to our Generative AI strategy, focusing on the infrastructure that powers advanced model serving and data retrieval at scale.

This position offers a
one-year base period
with significant long-term potential. Upon a successful contract recompete, this role includes
up to five additional one-year option periods
, providing a rare blend of contract flexibility and long-term project stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • GenAI Platform Enablement: Architect and maintain the AI Gateway and Model Serving layers to provide seamless, secure access to large language models.
  • RAG Infrastructure: Design and optimize Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, including the management and scaling of Vector Databases .
  • Data Engineering & Optimization: Drive high-performance data processing by leading Spark optimization efforts within a Databricks environment.
  • Platform Reliability: Provide robust API endpoint support and develop platform tools that streamline the machine learning lifecycle.
  • Cloud Architecture: Manage and scale complex AI/ML workloads natively within AWS .

Technical Requirements

  • Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in Platform Engineering, ML Ops, or Data Engineering.
  • Cloud & Data Stack: Deep, hands-on proficiency with AWS and Databricks .
  • Core Skills: Proven track record with Apache Spark (optimization and scaling) and building/supporting production-grade APIs .
  • AI Specialization: Experience with Vector Databases , model deployment, and Generative AI infrastructure.
  • Citizenship: Due to the nature of the government contract, U.S. Citizenship is required .

  • Role Type: Subcontractor
  • Duration: 12-month initial term + up to 5 additional 1-year options.
  • Work Setting: 100% Remote (Candidates must reside in the United States).
