Join a leading fintech company that’s democratizing finance for all.

Robinhood was founded on a simple idea: that our financial markets should be accessible to all. With customers at the heart of our decisions, Robinhood is lowering barriers and providing greater access to financial information. Together, we are building products and services that help create a financial system everyone can participate in.

As we continue to build...

We’re seeking curious, growth minded thinkers to help shape our vision, structures and systems; playing a key-role as we launch into our ambitious future. If you’re invigorated by our mission, values, and drive to change the world — we’d love to have you apply.

About the team + role

The Compute Infrastructure Management, Orchestration team is responsible for providing a fully managed, standardized and scalable compute infrastructure. We maintain homegrown Kubernetes clusters that all Robinhood applications run on. Our job is to make this a seamless, zero-touch experience for fellow Robinhood engineers. Some of the initiatives that drive this includes:

  • Kubernetes Cluster Lifecycle Management - making it easy and noiseless to create, delete, and upgrade clusters, as well as maintain and reconcile existing ones.
  • Change Management System - providing a platform for other infra applications to continuously deploy and test their changes across our environments + unifying this experience across both application-level and infrastructure-level deployments
  • Cost Efficiency - driving projects to reduce our compute usage
  • Cloud Security - partnering with Security to reduce risk of compromise at the infrastructure level

We need a Senior Software Developer to help us craft the next generation of our compute layer that powers all of Robinhood engineering. We are a lean team that runs all of Robinhood’s Kubernetes infrastructure, and we aim to provide a first class platform for our engineers through automation, security by design, and a phenomenal developer experience.

What you’ll do

  • Design and build large scale systems and automation that will forever change how we manage our infrastructure.
  • Proactively identify and drive optimizations and improvements to the infrastructure and systems.
  • Work on a small, highly collaborative team of mostly senior engineers
  • Lead organization-wide collaboration for the team.
  • Contribute to open source projects.

What you bring

  • 4+ years of software engineering experience
  • You have strong expertise with Kubernetes, AWS
  • You have familiarity with Kubernetes cluster management / upgrades, change management, load/e2e testing
  • You have familiarity with Golang, Terraform, UNIX or Linux operating system fundamentals
  • You are comfortable diagnosing and troubleshooting low-level operating system issues to large scale failures within AWS cloud environments

Our team is here to enable an inclusive and welcoming interview experience for all candidates. If you need additional assistance throughout the interview process related to a physical or mental condition, or if there is something our team can do to enable a more accessible experience at any time, please notify our team by completing this Applicant Accommodation Form.
