smlXL, Inc. seeks Software Engineer in New York, NY to modify existing software to address issues and improve functionality and performance. Develop or direct software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation. Write and test simple, elegant, practical, maintainable, and composable code. Support and gather customer requirements and evaluate tradeoffs in system design to create software architecture and develop or modify computer programs. Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and distribute knowledge across the organization. Contribute to open-source projects related to our space. Collaborate with Product, Community leads, and other functions to prioritize product roadmap. Perform hands-on research into innovative technology and application of the state-of-art ML/AI approaches related to social reputation and merit systems. Develop ML models which help price assets.
  • Less than 15% domestic and international travel for off-sites and team meetings. Compensation range of $170,000-$270,000 and 0.2%-1.25% equity.

Requires a Master's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Operation Research, Applied Math or a related field. Position requires 2 years of experience in the job offered, or related occupation. Must possess 2 years of experience in all of the following:
  • Extracting value from large scale data with Pandas library and Spark, production-ready Machine learning and statistical models; and building classification decision tree models with XGBoost & LightGBM libraries.
  • Regression models using Scikit-learn and TensorFlow for deep learning models, and OR-Tools, Gurobi, and FICO to solve graph-based optimization problems.
  • Computer Engineering paradigms.
  • Polynomial math and algorithms.
