Can you drive measurable value through data-driven decision-making and optimisation? Do you enjoy hands-on work that helps teams test, learn, and shape the future LEGO product portfolio?

There is no financial support for relocation for this role.

Core Responsibilities

The use of Data Science and AI is rapidly growing within the LEGO Group. We actively apply data science and AI to discover deeper insights, make predictions, or generate recommendations to continue delivering world-class play experiences to children.

You will be joining the Data Science & AI Organisation, which is the home of 50 data scientists and MLOps engineering colleagues, distributed across our offices in Denmark.

You will be part of the Portfolio Management & Execution Product Team whose purpose is to optimise the future LEGO product portfolio across audiences, price ranges, and themes. Some of the questions you will help address include how to make the right trade-off between investing in an additional LEGO City product versus LEGO Technic when only one option can be prioritised, and which assortment scenarios best optimise for sales or for reach, respectively.

Your tasks will include:

  • Build end-to-end machine learning and data-driven tools for optimising the future LEGO portfolio and boosting decision support in our user journeys.
  • Help shape the roadmap for a data‑driven product portfolio through hands‑on delivery, including maturing use cases, running experiments, and specifying solutions.
  • Interpret and deliver clear insights and recommendations to partners.
  • Partner closely with interested parties and the product manager to ensure that data science work delivers real value and impact.
  • Work collaboratively with other data scientists and data engineers in an effective and constructive way.
  • Coach less experienced team members through technical sparring and mentoring across data science and AI.
  • Stay up to date with machine learning developments across the industry.

Do you have what it takes?

We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in one or more of the following: data science, computer science, engineering, mathematics, or an equivalent quantitative subject area.

You have previous experience creating working ML and AI solutions in a large organization and are used to working in an agile cross-functional setup and engaging with a broad range of collaborators.

  • Proficiency with Python (or similar languages) and familiarity with modern ML platforms. Our current stack includes Databricks and MLflow, as well as libraries such as PySpark and scikit‑learn.
  • Prior experience building working ML and AI solutions on top of a disparate set of data sources to prove the feasibility of the approach and create a path towards scalable, maintainable production solutions.
  • Prior experience with software engineering practices including code management, release pipelines, and testing.
  • Collaborative spirit and a playful can-do attitude.
  • Persistence in driving solutions from prototype to production, with a well‑rounded view on technical and business trade‑offs.
