Senior DevOps Engineer - Linea
Role overview
This role is deeply hands-on and strategic. As Senior DevOps Engineer, you’ll own the design, automation, and reliability of Linea’s infrastructure. You will work directly with AWS, Kubernetes, Karpenter, Terraform, and Grafana, driving operational excellence, security, and rapid iteration in a cloud-native environment. You’ll partner with engineers, product, and SREs to deliver reliable and cost-efficient mainnet services for a fast-moving blockchain business.
You’ll work with top engineers building critical infrastructure for the future of finance and Web3, in a collaborative, fast-paced, and remote-first setting. The scope spans security, cost management, operational excellence, and rapid iteration at scale.
Responsibilities
- check_circle Architect, build, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure supporting Linea Mainnet/L2 nodes and supporting services.
- check_circle Design and optimize Kubernetes clusters for scaling, resiliency, and healthy node operations, leveraging Karpenter autoscaling and spot instance capabilities.
- check_circle Implement infrastructure-as-code using Terraform for reproducible, secure, and audit-ready deployments.
- check_circle Own monitoring, alerting, and observability pipelines (Grafana, Prometheus, Loki) for end-to-end production health and actionable insights.
- check_circle Drive automation of deployment and operational workflows, enabling zero-downtime upgrades and rapid rollbacks.
- check_circle Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and postmortem reporting for production blockchain services.
- check_circle Collaborate closely with engineering teams to identify opportunities for reliability and performance improvements.
- check_circle Document infrastructure, operational protocols, and DevOps best practices, ensuring knowledge sharing and team alignment.
- check_circle Stay current with new tools and cloud advancements relevant to blockchain, DevOps, and Kubernetes ecosystems.
- check_circle Senior/Staff experience with AWS cloud services and advanced Kubernetes ops, in production-grade environments.
- check_circle Proven experience in infrastructure-as-code, particularly Terraform, and delivering best practices for security and scalability.
- check_circle Proficiency in monitoring/observability tools: Grafana, Prometheus, Loki.
- check_circle Hands-on with Kubernetes autoscaling (Karpenter or Cluster Autoscaler) and EC2 spot instance cost optimization.
- check_circle Strong scripting/programming skills (Bash, Python, Go, or similar).
- check_circle Strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation abilities.
- check_circle Blockchain/Layer 2 protocol, cryptography, and Web3 infrastructure experience preferred but not required.
- check_circle Experience working in agile, high-performance teams within top technology environments.
