Sr Software Engineer, DevOps
Role overview
Developer Operations (DevOps) at RippleNet is responsible for communication, collaboration and integration between the Development and Operations teams so infrastructures, tools and processes are streamlined and effective for faster and automated delivery of product.
The Senior Software Engineer, DevOps will contribute in discovery, design and implementation of solutions to improve RippleNet infrastructure and release pipelines. These solutions, spanning all engineering teams, the entire tech stack and all of our infrastructure and tools; will include, but not limited to, developer infrastructure, build and test frameworks, CI/CD infrastructure and release process automation. As Senior Software Engineer, you will push the boundaries with new tools and technologies and use a data-driven approach for achieving desired results. Candidates should enjoy working openly and collaboratively with a diverse team and possess an ability to encourage and drive engineering best practices.
Responsibilities
- check_circle Develop, deploy, and maintain Ripple’s multi-region, multi-provider service platforms.
- check_circle Contribute design and development of tools for automation, monitoring, and instrumentation to reduce operational friction and increase engineering efficiency
- check_circle Lead discovery of next generation solutions and work with wider engineering teams on implementation, adoption and continuous improvements
- check_circle Create and automate new and existing platform and application lifecycle services, leveraging data to converge on declared states with minimal human interaction
- check_circle Collaborate with product engineering to ensure code is production-ready
- check_circle Participate in the adoption of DevOps-first principles within the organization
- check_circle 5+ years of hands-on experience as DevOps or related roles.
- check_circle Strong experience in either Python, Go, or Java
- check_circle Experience working with large scale, multi-region service platforms
- check_circle Expertise in Kubernetes and experience working with cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
- check_circle Experience with at least one configuration management tool such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible
- check_circle Experience with container schedulers and runtimes such as Docker, Rkt, or OCI running on Kubernetes, Rancher, or Mesos
- check_circle Experience building deployment pipelines leveraging common CI/CD tools
- check_circle Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, etc)
- check_circle Preferred, experience working with AWS CLI, IAM, ECR, ECS, EC2, S3/EBS/EFS, Security Groups, VPC's, RDS/Aurora, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CloudFront, Cognito
- check_circle Security awareness, with an emphasis on designing for security best practices
- check_circle Experience with Agile development of distributed services, with a focus on robust software design, scalability and securityA positive attitude and a passion for sharing knowledge
- check_circle BS in Computer Science or similar field
