Role overview
A Y Combinator-backed B2B SaaS startup in the industrial automation space is looking for an AI/LLM Engineer to build end-to-end AI systems that power practical, high-impact features for distributors and manufacturers. You'll work on a fast-moving team at the intersection of AI, ML, data engineering, and full-stack development — helping push the product forward and drive meaningful revenue growth.
Responsibilities
- Work across the full stack to build, deploy, and optimize AI agents end-to-end
- Work with embeddings and fine-tune LLMs for classification and reranking tasks
- Optimize algorithms for product search
- Apply RLHF & DPO to align LLMs with human feedback
- Build data pipelines to process large-scale unstructured data efficiently
- Contribute to making the backend scalable, stable, and efficient
- 2+ years of engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with NLP, LLMs, embeddings, ML, and AI agents
- Experience with full-stack development using React, TypeScript, and Next.js
- Demonstrated experience building and scaling data & ML pipelines, including large-scale unstructured data
- Practical experience applying RLHF and DPO for LLM alignment
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, GCP), and infrastructure as code (Terraform)
- Strong CS fundamentals
Benefits
- Salary range: $90,000 – $200,000 USD annually
