As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in realizing our ambitions while building both the future of Vopak and your own.
Responsibilities
- Building Decision Support Systems: Designing and implementing Operations Research algorithms and mathematical models to give actionable decision support via our existing end-user applications.
- Optimizing Planning & Operations: Analyzing large datasets to extract meaningful insights and trends, directly accelerating and improving the quality of our (tank) planning and scheduling capabilities.
- Scaling Digital Delivery: Translating business requirements into robust solutions and safely deploying them into production via our CI/CD pipelines, acting on the strategy that Digital Solutions builds and scales technology.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintaining close relationships with data scientists, analysts, engineers, product managers, and business subject matter experts to drive Vopak's digital transformation.
Basic qualifications
- You have an Academic Degree (e.g., econometrics, mathematics, IT) professional and intellectual level.
- You have 3-5 years of relevant work experience in implementing Operations Research algorithms and developing decision support systems.
- You are proficient in both Dutch and English (including excellent written and spoken English for an international environment).
- You have strong technical proficiency in SQL, Python, Cloud data platforms (like AWS and Snowflake), data visualization tooling, and Gitlab.
- You are a results-driven, adaptable, and critical thinker with strong communication skills, able to bridge the gap between complex mathematical concepts and both technical and non-technical stakeholders in an Agile/Scrum framework.

- A gross salary between € 65.000 - € 95.000 depending on your experience, knowledge and seniority in the role.
