Data Scientist - Decision Intelligence Recommendation Systems

Responsibilities

• check_circle Partnership with business stakeholders to identify high-impact AI opportunities, translate business challenges into scalable AI solutions, and communicate technical insights to technical and non-technical audiences
• check_circle Development of decision intelligence across customer intelligence, merchandising, pricing, supply chain, logistics, inventory management, store operations, and marketing
• check_circle Design, development, and deployment of machine learning models and advanced analytics solutions for retail use cases
• check_circle Development of predictive, prescriptive, and optimization models to improve business performance and operational efficiency
• check_circle Development of recommendation systems, forecasting models, customer segmentation, demand prediction, inventory optimization, and other AI-powered solutions
• check_circle Collaboration with Data Engineers and ML Engineers on scalable data pipelines, feature stores, and production-ready ML solutions using Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery, Vertex AI)
• check_circle Evaluation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of model performance and business value

Basic qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Artificial Intelligence, Operations Research, or a related quantitative field
• Proven experience developing and deploying machine learning solutions in retail, e-commerce, supply chain, or other data-intensive industries
• Strong knowledge of machine learning, statistics, predictive analytics, optimization techniques, and experimentation
• Excellent programming skills in Python and SQL, with experience processing large-scale structured and unstructured datasets
• Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including BigQuery, Vertex AI, and modern MLOps practices
• Experience with machine learning frameworks such as scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, embeddings, and recommendation systems is a strong advantage
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business needs into AI solutions
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to both technical and business audiences
• A collaborative mindset, curiosity, and a passion for leveraging data and AI to create measurable business impact
